Senior Adult Ministry

—STARS, Serving Through A Risen Savior

“Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like STARS in the universe as you hold out the word of life.” Philippians 2:14-16.

Active Prayer Groups

You may Participation or Prayer Requests may be submitted by calling the church office at 353-5912, better still, e-mail to central@cbcdecatur.org.

• Monday Morning Prayer Group—8:30 a.m. in Church Parlor, Senior men and women and those younger are invited to participate.

• Tuesday—9:00 a.m. Fellowship Hall, Retired Men’s Prayer Group.  Join these men for doughnut and coffee fellowship then a devotional thought and prayer.

• Wednesday—4:00 p.m. Lower Auditorium Class Room.  Grandparents Who Pray.

• Saturday—7:00 a.m. Men’s Prayer Group for all men

Sing n’ Strings

Seniors learn to play the ukulele and perform as a group at nursing homes and other senior gatherings to encourage others.  Led by our Minister of Music Ron Rainer.

TLC—Through the Love of Christ

Be an encourager and help homebound members feel connected to their church family.

SMART—Small Maintenance And Repair Team

If you can perform small maintenance projects around the house, then there are some folks in need of the ministry you can provide.

Ceramics—Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Central Baptist Annex

“The Spot” Located at 410 Johnston Street.

Knitting—Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the Church Parlor.  Ladies have fellowship while they relax with their knitting needles.  Learn to knit from experienced knitters.

STARS Monthly Luncheon is normally on the second Friday of the month.
