How I met my spouse: Introduced by friends on first time blind date.

Spiritual Gifts: Preaching, Teaching, encouragement.

Education: Central High School, Woodbury, TN (1950); BS Middle Tennessee State University (1953), Murfreesboro, TN; BD Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (1959), Louisville, KY.
How I came to Ministry: God called me to ministry when a member at First Baptist Church, Waverly, OH, and licensed to preach by that church in 1955. Ordained by the Carlisle Ave. Baptist Church, Louisville, KY in 1958.

How I spend my free time: Yard work, walking, family, reading.

First Job: Draftsman with Grinnell Corp. Portsmouth, OH.

Something the church doesn’t know about me: Played football in High School, was a cheerleader during basketball season and on my college wrestling team. Have been on mission trips to: Kenya in East Africa, Island Country of Trinidad & Tobago (3 times); Brazil (2 times); State of Wisconsin. Also have been to Israel and Greece.

What I value Most: My Wife & family, walk & service with God & His Church.

Most powerful Christian book I’ve read: Other than the Bible the most practical would be Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby.

How I became a Christian: My father trusted Christ on a Sunday night revival meeting and following his example the following Tuesday night as I sought the Lord a neighboring pastor and friend used Romans 10:9-10 to lead me to faith in Christ.

Music: The Great Hymns, Contemporary Gospel choirs, Piano, String Folk and Bluegrass, Classical Orchestra.
