Minister of Music & Worship How I spend my free time: spending time with Shelly and the kids, reading, watching football, coaching Brice’s soccer team First job: Grounds keeper at Edgewater Beach Resort, Panama City Beach, FL Something the church doesn’t know about me: I love high fantasy literature, especially the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and Robert Jordan. Most powerful Christian book I’ve read: The Calvary Road by Roy Hession What I value most: First is my relationship with Jesus Christ, and then my precious wife Shelly How I became a Christian: I responded to the Holy Spirit’s call when I was 7 years old. It was a Thursday night service in spring revival at North Russellville Baptist Church. I talked and prayed with my mother the night before. I surrendered to God’s call to full-time ministry at age 17 at a Scott Dawson Winter Retreat in Perdido Beach, FL. Favorite Music: Let’s see… Matt Redman, Graham Kendrick, Keith Green, Leeland, Tree63, U2, Snow Patrol, The Fray, Keith Getty, Chris Tomlin, Marcos Witt, Klaus, Robin Mark, Beach Boys, Coldplay, Israel & New Breed, Josh Groban, Kathryn Scott, Paul Baloche, PFR, Hillsong, Hillsong United, Fee, Matisyahu, Chris Rice, Fleetwood Mac, James Taylor, Carole King, and the list goes on and on and on Worship Song: right now, my favorite is Holy Spirit Have Your Way by Leeland (from Love Is On The Move) Movies: Lord Of The Rings (all), Harry Potter (all), Twilight series (all), Star Trek, Fireproof, Facing the Giants, Flywheel (basically anything done by Sherwood pictures... those Kendrick boys are awesome), The Sound Of Music, My Fair Lady, Mary Poppins, Moulin Rouge, almost any musical TV Shows: Don't watch much, but when I do it is probably college football (Roll Tide) and comics like Brian Regan, Demetri Martin, Jim Gaffigan Favorite Food: Any burrito at Chipotle Mexican Grill… and if you guys are reading this, please open one in Decatur!
