Wayne
C. Newby is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and
Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was pastor of
churches from 1956 through 1989 in Indiana, Tennessee and Kentucky.
He served as Director of Missions in Paducah, Ky for 9 years and
retired at the end of 1998. Bro. Wayne became a member of
Central in January 1999 and has served as a deacon, SS
teacher, on committees and as Interim Minister of Education. He also
has served as Interim Pastor in another Decatur church and Interim
DOM for Muscle Shoals Baptist Assoc. in Moulton, AL. He and
his wife Ruby have been married for 50 years and have four adult
daughters, three in Decatur and one in Mobile.
